We are seeking a Backend + Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in building robust, scalable backend systems. You should have a solid foundation in Go and Python, deep understanding of systems design and concurrency, and a track record of designing RESTful APIs and managing distributed databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery). You will work with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), and enjoy solving complex problems in a collaborative, impact-focused environment. You are proactive, able to work independently and within a team, and motivated by transforming agriculture through technology. Nice-to-haves include IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), workflow orchestration (Airflow, n8n), and messaging/streaming tech (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub). Roles like this require strong problem-solving, clear communication, and a passion for sustainable agriculture outcomes.
We are looking for a candidate primarily in LATAM but open to Europe as well.

Neutral Farming is transforming agriculture with an AI-driven digital twin platform that recreates real-world fields with high fidelity. Our flagship product enables simulation and optimization of farming processes to boost profitability and promote sustainable production. The Backend + Infrastructure Engineer will join a cross-functional team to design and evolve the backend that powers the Digital Twin, ensuring reliability, scalability, and seamless integration with data sources and AI models.

• Design, build, and maintain Golang API endpoints and backend services serving our Platform and AI Models that power the Agricultural Digital Twin.
• Collaborate with the UI team to ensure smooth, robust frontend-backend integrations.
• Design and develop integrations with irrigation, climate, and sensor providers for real-time data processing.
• Partner with Data and AI Engineers to build and optimize reliable workflow pipelines.
• Apply systems design, concurrency, and distributed computing principles to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Write, test, monitor, and optimize code to deliver high-quality, reliable deliverables.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to maintain peak performance and reliability.
• Stay current with infrastructure and backend technologies to drive continuous product improvements.

- Knowledge of agricultural science or a genuine interest in the agtech sector.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow, n8n) and message queues/streams (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub).

- Prior involvement in end-to-end platform development from backend to deployment in a production environment.
